Who needs Euler et al anyways...???

Hey... don't take me wrong guys... I ain't here to criticize these guys or question their intellect (anyways I do not have enough credentials to do that). I just wish to make you guys aware of Ancient Indian Mathematicians and Astronomers - those who existed on this Earth a millennium before these Western genius - and their priceless but 'worthless' contribution in the field mathematics and astronomy.
What if I ask you about the Indian contribution in these fields. Probably, you wouldn't remember anything other than the contribution of Zero. But guys, this isn't true - India's contribution is many times greater. Much before Euler et al were giving solutions to basic algebraic problems, Indian Mathematicians and astronomers had already done it. And folks, here I am not talking about some mystical things like aeroplanes or WMDs (which many - myself included - believe and claim that were an integral part of ancient civilizations, but let us not talk about this now); I am simply talking about theoretical Maths and documented results. Some of these include Solution of equations, Value of π, Use of irrational numbers, geometry, solid geometry (around14h century), etc. etc.
Indeed this contribution is priceless but why then I called it worthless? Because of just one reason - is this work contributed to them - No.....!!! I ask you why is this work not given their name. Something which is written, which has proof that can satisfy anyone - whats the problem in attributing it to them?
I have few links for those interested and wish to update their knowledge database.

Goa: a trip to the Indian party capital

Why is always me who has to try arousing enthu in others… huh. Anyways, though the trip was decided quite late we still managed to get some tickets to Goa.

People: 4+1 (me, sid, nj, dassi) + (chirki from pune)
Vehicle: sleeper bus + 3 bikes hired in goa

First of all I am not sure if by just writing I will be completely doing the justice with the trip. So instead writing big paras will just leave with the pointers censoring out some things
- Bikes hired – me/ nj, chirki/ dassi, sid. Though I myself haven’t ride bikes much, but I was much better option than others.
- Search for a place – got a shack near the beach
- Sid caught by police in the night for driving w/o license (btw we were back by then and parking the bikes. Sid had already parked but when he saw us parking somewhere else he brought his bike… and then, came the police)
- Dassi took the onus of riding and kept losing his way
- Covering almost each and every beach in north goa in 2 days
- Water sports like banana ride, scooter etc.
- Para-sailing
- I didn’t drink much because obviously was driving. Anyways, didn’t like ‘feni’
- Chirki buying special thing for his friend
- Ordering pizzas at anjuna beach
- Bon-fire at anjuna
- India vs Bangladesh WC match. A Bangladeshi guy celebrating the same
- Infinite biking
- Losing the way and reaching Maharashtra border in the night
- Rs. 100 bet with Sid – Win
- Pool game sponsorship bet with chirki – Win
- Riding bare chest (in boxers) for most of the time
- Saturday Night Bazaar
- Tattoos (not me)
- Buying petrol from shops
- Dogs… I bet sid wont forget them (he just fell on his knees - still like a statute)
- Sleeping outside (well… Chirki & I decided to sleep outside. But the guy ditched while I was asleep and went inside. When I woke up just can’t get inside coz of those dogs…)
- Fort
- losing way n number of times
- GMD/ BC Sutta @ some shack in other side of Calangute
- Hot climate (and babes ;))
These again are just some of the many wild, wacky things done by us. May be someday I will extend this travelogue by visiting Goa
Why the trip will be remembered: G.O.A – don’t you get it
